What makes us unique ?
The parish at st. margaret’s has a unique and beautiful story…
Founded by a group of concerned families in the Conway NH region, St. Margaret’s first met in September 28, 1978 in a private home in Tamworth, New Hampshire with eight people in attendance. Our founders acted in response to the need for an Anglican parish in this beautiful area. What started as a home church has grown to become a full fledged Parish with a rich tradition of Christian life. Founding members purchased and built the current sanctuary and chapel on Pleasant street in 1989 and the mortgage was retired in 1992. Multiple additions have been made to the original structure since then for ongoing growth and enhanced Church life.
Today St. Margaret’s Anglican is a vibrant and mature church with members who live nearby and others who regularly make a one hour commute to be a part of our family. We host seasonal residents and snowbirds, as well as families on vacation or folks just passing through. We host bible studies and luncheons, kids events, and birthday parties. We use our facilities to serve the community and have strong relationships throughout the White Mountain region of New Hampshire and beyond.

Food Pantry ministry: We contribute as a parish to our own food pantry and offer support for those who are in genuine need.
Women’s ministry: Our ladies meet once a week seasonally (Wednesdays 1PM) to share a time of prayer and bible study. The study of scripture, sharing of food, and lasting friendships, are core to who we are as the body of Christ.
Children’s Ministry: We have our very own Sunday school service for children 3 and older downstairs during our Sunday morning Mass. We also are able to host families with small infants in our nursery during Sunday services.
Wheel Chair accessible: We have recently updated and installed a wheel chair lift for those who cannot climb stairs safely. Please let us know if you plan to attend and we can make arrangements for a usher or sub-deacon to assist you.
Men’s ministry: The men meet twice a month on Tuesdays at 5:30PM for dinner. See the events page for details of any planned events.
